Senior Release Manager
The Senior Release Manager oversees the entire software development lifecycle from requirements gathering to production, ensuring a seamless transition and high-quality outputs. This pivotal role coordinates with development and quality assurance teams to allocate resources effectively and schedule releases optimally. By adhering to stringent testing and documentation standards and managing the transition of enhancements and new functionalities, the Senior Release Manager plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of software deployments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Maintenance and optimization of software environments.
  
• Management of the backlog of enhancements and effective scheduling of releases based on priority, available developer bandwidth, and resource estimates.
  
• Ensure that SDLC release guidelines are rigorously followed during the migration of releases through various environments including development, testing, UAT, and production.
  
• Facilitate production releases by coordinating required resources, communicating timelines, organizing business testers, and generating comprehensive release notes.
  
• Act as an escalation point for post-release production issues, providing strategic support and problem resolution.
  
• Transition new functionalities to the Application Support team following production releases to maintain continuity and quality of service.
  
• Serve as the application and API subject matter expert within the company, providing guidance and insights as needed.
  
  Minimum Position Qualifications:
  
  • 
    
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
    
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in release management or a similar role in software development processes.
    
  • Demonstrated experience in managing software release cycles in a dynamic environment.
    
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with precise attention to detail.
    
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, release management processes, and continuous integration and deployment pipelines (CI/CD).
    
    Preferred Qualifications:
    
    • 
      
    • Advanced degree or professional certifications related to software development or project management (e.g., PMP, CSM).
      
    • Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a technical team.
      
    • Experience with cloud-based environments and services such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
      
    • Knowledge of regulatory compliance issues in software development within specific industries (such as finance or healthcare).
      
    • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA and Confluence.
