CT Technologist Job Description
Produce high-quality computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of designated anatomical areas, utilizing immobilization devices and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
About the Job
The CT Technologist is responsible for operating equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body, positioning patients, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors. The position requires a strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities

• 
  
• Operate equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body
  
• Position patients utilizing immobilization devices
  
• Adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors
  
• Explain procedures to patients and address their concerns
  
• Assist physicians with invasive procedures
  
• Expose and develop film
  
• Operate mobile equipment in operating room, emergency department, or at patient's bedside
  
• Monitor, record, and communicate as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems
  
• Utilize knowledge of age-specific needs of patient in performance of duties and responsibilities
  
• Orient and mentor new staff members
  
• Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff
  
• Provide a safe environment for administering contrast material
  
• Assist with transporting patients
  
• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
  
  Requirements
  
  • 
    
  • One year experience in Radiology or MRI preferred
    
  • Prefer specific experience and training in CT Scan
    
  • Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology
    
  • Florida State License in Radiologic Technology
    
  • Current BCLS certification
    
  • Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
    
  • ARRT certification in Radiology and CT, preferred
